Hi team,
“Humble” is our virtue this week. Being humble is a cornerstone of good character. Our character is generally revealed in how we think, speak and behave. The supporting scripture for this virtue is very powerful.
- Philippians 2:3-4 – Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interest of others.
- Proverbs 11:2 – When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.
Being humble shows a willingness to be vulnerable, open, and to put the needs of others above one’s own ego. A focus on the greater good.
Humble people are willing to admit when they are wrong, own up to their failures or flaws, take responsibility and apologize for their mistakes as well as learn from them. They are also willing to graciously accept others’ apologies.
A humble person is willing to take on tasks that may not be glamorous or high-profile, and to do so without complaining. They are able to sincerely appreciate and recognize others’ strengths, skills and abilities.
Humility is arguably one of the most important traits of being a great team player. May this virtue be the a cornerstone of who we are!
