I was on a job with Punch List Pros recently, and the crew got held up at Lowe’s picking up supplies they were initially told they wouldn’t need. I planned to stay for no more than 20 minutes, since the job was expected to take only 20–30 minutes.
About halfway through, they realized the issue was much bigger than anticipated — nearly two feet of concrete with rotting wood inside (it was honestly insane). What should have been a quick fix turned into a two-hour process of breaking concrete and digging everything out.
At that point, I was ready to leave and accept that I wouldn’t get usable content that day. But the team stayed committed to the job, and I decided that if they were willing to tough it out, I would too.
Not only did they complete the job, but I ended up getting a ton of great content — and more importantly, I learned a valuable lesson. I saw firsthand what grit really looks like: pushing through and finishing strong, even when everything goes wrong.
