Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome

Team,

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
— Galatians 6:9

“In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty.”
— Proverbs 14:23

Have you ever found yourself facing new challenges or significant changes in life or business? I believe it’s safe to say that we all have—at one time or another.

The reality is that while we don’t always control the circumstances we face, we do control how we respond. Challenges and change can slow us down and force us to be more prayerful, wise, and thoughtful in our decision-making. They also require hard work, humility, and the willingness to seek good counsel. Embracing adversity—and learning quickly from it—is often the path forward.

Several years ago, I completely tore the patella tendon in my left leg from the tibia—essentially separating my knee from my shin. This tendon is critical for lifting and extending the lower leg. The orthopedic surgeon told me that, at my age, most people never fully recover. I was advised to expect a permanent limp, the use of a cane, limited mobility on stairs, squatting, crawling, climbing, and no running.

Through a great deal of prayer and consistent hard work, I was blessed to recover far beyond those expectations. I do not walk with a limp, I do not use a cane, and I can do nearly everything I could before—with the exception of extensive running. I am deeply grateful to the Lord for the grit, strength, and perseverance He provided to overcome that challenge.

As 2025 comes to a close, I encourage each of you to take some time to reflect on the year behind us. Consider the challenges and changes you faced and how you responded. Identify where you might have handled things differently—and take those lessons with you into 2026 so you can continue to grow personally and professionally.

Don’t quit.
Instead—improvise, adapt, and overcome.

Thank you for your continued hard work and commitment.
